Mr. Allen has nearly 20 years of experience organizing, implementing and overseeing SUE and utility coordination projects for departments of transportation, energy providers, telecommunications companies, municipalities and private businesses. He has also represented owners in design-build projects that required extensive subsurface explorations and utility locations.
“Mike understands every aspect of utility location. He began his career as a utility locator, was promoted to manager and then served as a practice leader. He has worked extensively with TxDOT and has an outstanding safety record during his nearly 20-year tenure in the industry. We are very happy to welcome him to McKim & Creed,” said Jason Jernigan RPLS, who oversees McKim & Creed’s Texas operations.
Mr. Allen has a degree in sociology from Coastal Carolina University. He worked as a teacher in the Dallas County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program before entering the utility location profession.
Earlier this month, McKim & Creed was ranked among the top 10 surveying and mapping firms in Texas by Engineering News-Record magazine.
