Hallowell, Maine – June 29, 2016 – Blue Marble Geographics (bluemarblegeo.com) today confirmed the locations for the remaining Global Mapper public training classes for 2016 as well as the date for rescheduled Blue Marble User Conference (BMUC) in Pittsburgh, PA. During the first six months of 2016, Blue Marble Applications Specialists conducted training classes in several cities throughout North America and Europe and later in the year we look forward to bringing the training program to St Louis, MO and Orlando, FL. The Pittsburgh BMUC event, which was originally scheduled during the very successful month-long roadshow in March, will now take place on October 25.
Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation, visualization, and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, energy, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions.
The Global Mapper training curriculum effectively introduces novice users to the fundamentals of GIS and spatial data processing while concurrently challenging experienced GIS professionals to improve workflow and productivity through the use of Global Mapper’s advanced data processing tools. The class in St Louis is scheduled for September 27 – 29 while the Orlando class will take place from December 6 – 8. Additional dates and locations may be added to meet the demand for training in a particular geographic area.
The Global Mapper course consists of three days of hands-on instruction resulting in successful attendees being recognized as Certified Global Mapper users. Day one introduces the basic functions of the software and, depending on available space, may be attended as a standalone class at no cost. Day two covers more advanced data processing techniques and procedures, and day three includes all of Global Mapper’s 3D, terrain analysis, and LiDAR processing capabilities.
BMUC provides an opportunity for attendees to gain insight into current and future product plans; to pick up useful tips and tricks for optimizing the application of both Global Mapper and Geographic Calculator; to hear from industry experts on their use of Blue Marble technology; and to participate in the ongoing collaborative development process by providing feedback and requests to the Blue Marble team. The BMUC meeting in Pittsburgh was postponed due to logistical reasons but we are now able and delighted to confirm October 25 as the new date for this event.
“Direct interaction with our customers is a key component of our business development strategy.” stated Patrick Cunningham, Blue Marble President. “Both the public training classes and the popular user conferences offer an ideal forum for helping our customers get the most out of Blue Marble’s software while at the same time providing us with the insight to make sure our products continue to meet the needs of the geospatial community.”
Registration is currently open for the St Louis and Orlando classes. More information is available here: www.bluemarblegeo.com/solutions/public-training.php.
