Hexagon Mining Introduces MineSight Planner Reconciliation Utility

Tucson, Arizona, November 11, 2015 – Reconcile material mined within a solid for multiple block models with the MineSight Planner Reconciliation Utility, released by Hexagon Mining. Now integrated with MineSight Planner, the tool enables operational planning staff to quickly and easily perform reconciliation reserves on digblock or progress polygons within a solid and against multiple block models (for example, grade control and resource models). It is usually used for end-of-month reconciliation reports to compare the mined forecast vs. what was actually mined. These results can also be compared with routed tonnes from the fleet management system using HxM Athena, to be released in November.

The MineSight Planner Reconciliation Utility takes a validated end-of-period solid as one input and a series of designed digblocks or progress shapes from MineSight Planner as the other input, and builds as-designed solids, clipped by the end-of-period solid, for each polygon. These solids are reserved against as many block models as you need and stored into a MineSight Planner project.

This can be the source Planner project, if you wish, but is more commonly a new project specifically set up for reconciliations. You can then generate reports and highlight any areas where there is a significant difference between the values reported in the grade control model and the values reported in the resource or reserve models. These differences often highlight issues with the resource modeling process and can be useful for ongoing planning in similar mining areas or materials.

The tool also outputs any leftover or unplanned mining areas as solids so that you can track where mining did not go according to plan.

The Reconciliation Utility solution is integrated directly in MineSight Planner so you can generate reports that provide model-to-model comparisons on the entire solid, as well as being able to drill down to the individual solids for further analysis.
