BHC RHODES hosted their 10th Annual Community Leadership Breakfast, an event where the company recognizes a professional from the Architecture, Engineering, Commercial Real Estate, and Construction industry who spends a significant amount of personal time giving back to the community. Ms. Cathy Baier, Principal at US Federal Properties, was the honoree this year. Baier was recognized for her work with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the leadership role she has taken within the organization.
Baier became involved with JDRF 10 years ago when her oldest son Blaise was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 9. She has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for diabetes research through the JDRF One Walk and the JDRF Dream Gala. Over the last 10 years, Baier has chaired the Corporate Development Commitment, served as Board Treasure, Board Secretary and in 2014-2015 was the JDRF KC Chapter Board President. Guest speaker, De White with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Kansas City Chapter spoke in depth about Baier’s impact on the lives she has touched. In addition to the award, BHC RHODES made a monetary donation to JDRF.
