Woolpert National Security Leader Elected to MAPPS Board

Arlington, Va. (July 14, 2015) — Joseph Seppi, the national security practice director for Woolpert, has been elected to a two-year term on the MAPPS Board of Directors. MAPPS is the only national association of firms in the surveying, spatial data and geographic information systems (GIS) field in the United States.

Seppi has been with Woolpert—a national architecture, engineering and geospatial firm headquartered in Dayton, Ohio—for more than seven years. He works out of the firm’s office in Arlington, Va.

“Joe Seppi will bring extensive market and management experience, and an important perspective, to the MAPPS Board,” said John Palatiello, MAPPS executive director. “His knowledge of GEOINT practice and national security agencies will make him a valued board member.”

Jeff Lovin, senior vice president and director of government solutions at Woolpert, said MAPPS continues to be a key organization for Woolpert.

“It’s the only professional organization that advocates for and works to protect the rights of the private sector,” Lovin said. “As a past board member and president (2009-11), I think it is important that we at Woolpert, as members, give back to the organization by serving in key leadership roles such as this.”

Seppi’s fellow board members include incumbents Chris Ogier, Spicer Group; Mitch Long, GRW; Susan Marlow, Stantec; Bob Hanson, Michael Baker; Brian Raber, Merrick; and George Southard, Trimble; as well as newly elected members Mark Brooks, Magnolia River; Kelly Francis, Aero-Graphics; and Thomas Newman, TerraSond.

A formal election ceremony was to be held today, July 14, and a transition of officers is expected to take place at a banquet this evening.

The events are part of the MAPPS 2015 Summer Conference, which started Sunday and continues through Wednesday in Sunriver, Ore.
