June 9, 2015 – Teledyne Optech is pleased to announce the start of the 2015 Imaging and Lidar Solutions Conference (ILSC) in the heart of downtown Toronto. ILSC 2015 promises to be an event where industry, academic and governmental groups can share how to leverage Teledyne Optech technology with new techniques, best practices and software to provide solutions for a wide array of applications.
ILSC 2015 begins at noon on Tuesday June 9 with a whole day dedicated to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and their business cases, processing challenges and trends, including a keynote speech from Lewis Graham of the GeoCue Group about how UAVs are affecting the economics of surveying. On Wednesday, attendees can learn how to use the latest technologies from Teledyne Optech, Applanix, Merrick and Certainty 3D with a selection of practical workshops, or take advantage of official networking opportunities and tours of the Teledyne Optech facilities to make new contacts and pick up the latest industry buzz.
Dr. Mark Whorton of Teledyne Brown Engineering will begin activities on Thursday with a keynote speech on how the Multi-User System for Earth Sensing (MUSES) aboard the International Space Station is opening up space-based imaging to the wider surveying industry. This will be followed by an entire day of technical presentations on the latest developments in surveying with Teledyne Optech systems, including lidar/sonar integration, techniques for feature extraction from point clouds, field notes from surveys around the world, and more. Friday will host workshops from TerraSolid and Orbit Geospatial Technologies plus several additional technical presentations, this time focusing on the scientific applications possible with multispectral lidar data from the Optech Titan and the latest news about the Optech CZMIL Nova airborne bathymetric lidar and hyperspectral imager.
