Trimble Software Introduces New Laser Scanning Capabilities and Adds New Edition for Storage Tank Inspection and Calibration

Trimble RealWorks—Powerful and Versatile Laser Scanning Software

Berlin, Oct. 7, 2014—Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today a new version of its laser scanning software—Trimble® RealWorks version 9.0. Trimble RealWorks is a powerful office software that transforms laser scanner data into compelling 3D deliverables. Version 9.0 offers revised tools for more-efficient workflows and a new edition for the inspection and calibration of vertical storage tanks.
The announcement was made today at INTERGEO 2014, the world’s largest conference on geodesy, geoinformatics, and land management.
Trimble RealWorks version 9.0 supports data from virtually any laser scanner allowing scanning professionals to benefit from the powerful management, automation and analytical capabilities of the software. The new Trimble RealWorks Advanced-Tank Edition reduces the time required to create inspection reports and volume filling tables from 3D laser scan data. The reports can also be used in text and spreadsheet editing software for additional customization.

In addition, Trimble RealWorks version 9.0 enhances smart drawing tools and real time communication with SketchUp Pro to provide architects, engineers, and geospatial professionals a streamlined workflow to rapidly create point cloud based models.
“The automated tools and simplified workflows in Trimble RealWorks save geospatial professionals valuable time in creating deliverables from complex scanning datasets,” said Alain Samaha, business area director of GIS and Software for Trimble’s Geospatial Division. “The new Advanced-Tank Edition quickly produces tank reports required within the oil and gas industry; this addition to our software portfolio demonstrates Trimble’s commitment to providing specialized solutions for productivity.”
Trimble RealWorks version 9.0 will be available through Trimble’s Geospatial Distribution Channel in November 2014.
