Esri Story Map Outlines the Expansion of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument

President Barack Obama recently signed a proclamation to expand the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument (PRIMNM) to 490,000 square miles. The protections include preservation of pristine oceanic habitat, bans on commercial use including fishing, and restrictions on recreational fishing.
