Harrisburg, PA, January 3, 2014: In support of their efforts to maintain and showcase Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests, Dawood Engineering, Inc. (Dawood) has made a donation to the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF) and encourages you to enjoy the natural beauty of state parks across the nation in every season. In lieu of sending a paper holiday greeting, Dawood has opted to send an electronic message, with the money saved going towards the mission of the PPFF.
Because of the PPFF "Through the Seasons" Photography Contest, Dawood has been fortunate to take advantage of the beautiful pictures from local photographers for use in our holiday greeting. The annual contest is a way for local photographers to showcase the scenery and visitors enjoying the surroundings of the state parks. This year’s selection, Frozen Falls at Ridley Creek State Park was captured by photographer Thomas Caldwell.
PPFF is also joining with other state park foundations on an initiative to promote the sharing of best practices in different states by helping to organize a summit of leaders from all states. Planned for 2014, this meeting will foster communication among supporters of state parks nationwide. A portion of Dawood’s gift will help to underwrite this program.
“Dawood is happy to once again support PPFF as part of our holiday greeting program. Pennsylvania is our home state, and now we can work with them to make an impact in other states, too. As our company has grown to include new offices in Ohio, West Virginia, and Massachusetts, we wanted to be able to make a contribution that would support our parks all across America,” said Bony Dawood, President. “Dawood has been fortunate to work on infrastructure projects that provide better access to and within state parks. And our professionals work daily on projects that focus on safe development that respects the environment.”
"We want to thank Dawood for their continued support of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation. Not only will their donation be used towards supporting our work in Pennsylvania parks and forests, but it will also support park foundations across the nation as we gather with sister foundations to learn from one another and build upon shared success," stated Marci Mowery, President, Pennsylvania Parks & Forests Foundation
