Amsterdam, Netherlands – Today at the 2013 SPAR/European LIDAR Mapping Forum, GeoCue announced the release of LP360 Project Publisher. LP360 Project Publisher is a free application that allows users to create metadata for a collection of point cloud files (in LAS format) and, optionally, publish to ArcGIS® Online.
With LP360 Project Publisher users can generate a shape file containing features that represent (one feature per file) the Minimum Bounding Rectangle of each LAS file as well as associated metadata (file name, point counts and so forth). Additionally, a hill shade and intensity image rendering of the data can be generated. LP360 Project Publisher can create a data package suitable for ArcGIS Online and upload these packages to an ArcGIS Online account (requires a copy of ArcGIS Desktop Basic to upload images).
LP360 Project Publisher is a quick and easy tool for generating LIDAR project catalogs. The ability to upload to ArcGIS Online provides a context rich publishing environment for sharing metadata regarding LAS file holdings.
