Presentation to Revit User Group Will Focus on Laser Scanning Technology for BIM Workflow

Livermore, Calif. – Tuesday, November 5, 2013 – Topcon Positioning Systems’ national sales manager for scanning products, Brad Burgess, will present “Mobile technology: Improved collaboration for AEC (architect/engineer/contractor) workflow” at the Sacramento Revit® User Group meeting on November 12. The presentation is scheduled for noon - 1 p.m. at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Central Valley.

The session will provide an overview of 3D laser scanning technology along with tips on how Revit users can best engage with point cloud data. Autodesk® Revit is software for architectural design, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) engineering, structural engineering, and construction.

Burgess said, “From as-built surveys in BIM (Building Information Modeling) applications, to QA/QC (quality assurance/quality control) surveys and material stockpile measurements, 3D laser scanning technology is quickly becoming an integral part of today’s AEC workflow.”
