July 9, 2013 – Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI) announces the release of two new TruPulse laser rangefinders, the 200X and 200L. These exciting new laser measurement tools are being unveiled for the first time at this year’s Esri User Conference at booth #2517.
The new lasers build on LTI’s worldwide reputation of proven and widely used laser measurement instruments. As the newest members of the TruPulse series, the 200X and 200L measure slope distances and degree of inclination allowing the unit to calculate horizontal and vertical distances, height and 2D missing line values. The new TruPulse 200L is designed for the cost-conscious professional while the new TruPulse 200X caters to those who require a much higher degree of accuracy and overall durability. LTI’s extensive history in developing handheld lasers includes licensing its technology to Bushnell Optics for the first affordable recreational golfing and hunting rangefinder. LTI’s exclusive ASIC chip is now inside millions of Bushnell laser rangefinders and tens of thousands of TruPulse professional grade measurement tools, which is how the lightning fast distance measurements and calculations are made possible.
Product manager Derrick Reish comments, “These new measurement instruments are designed to address gaps in our measurement portfolio and we expect they’ll be every bit as important to our customers as our other TruPulse models are.”
LTI’s TruPulse 200L laser rangefinder, above right, is capable of taking professional-grade measurements using a built-in inclinometer, but is priced more like a recreational rangefinder. The extended range and quality optics found in all TruPulse models are also designed to achieve reliable measurements to the intended target. Most rangefinders are unable to lock onto smaller and dark-colored targets therefore are unable to even generate a reading at all.
The new 200L model produces +/- 1 m (3 ft) range accuracy and 0.5 degree relative inclination accuracy. It also includes graphical icons that can be seen inside the scope to simplify operation for users worldwide. The advanced targeting modes are essential for aiming at targets with surrounding obstructions that are either behind, near or in the way of the target. Using the CLOSEST, FARTHEST, CONTINUOUS or FILTER modes enable the processor to decipher between the desired target and unwanted obstructions.
LTI’s new TruPulse 200X produces much higher precision measurements with +/- 4 cm (2 in) range accuracy and 0.1 degree for the inclination accuracy. The added protection and waterproof housing with an adjustable illuminated in-scope LED makes the 200X ideal for accurate measurement in challenging conditions. It will stand up to the test of time and work just the same after a dusty, wet or environmentally rough day. Dusk or dawn, day or night, the display brightness easily adjusts to a level that reads best in the current lighting condition. For data collection it connects to a smartphone, tablet, Windows mobile device or almost any GPS handheld via Bluetooth (Windows/Android/iOS). To collect 3D data it integrates with an LTI TruAngle, which is immune to magnetic interference, for horizontal turned angles.
The professional measurement applications for these new TruPulse models are endless. From tree height measurements in GIS or forestry to quick site inspections for construction, these new models complete the full array of laser tools that can fit anyone’s budget and requirements.
