A Carlson Software First – Pay & Upgrade in Three Easy Steps
Maysville, Kentucky, U.S.A (May 2013) — In an effort to make it quicker and easier for Carlson SurvCE customers to upgrade to the newest version of its popular data collection software, SurvCE3.0, Carlson Software has for the first time, made it possible to both upgrade and pay completely online.
Due to the worldwide popularity of the SurvCE product and the numerous requests for the 3.0 version, Carlson has put access to the purchase and download instructions or an upgrade on both its home page, www.carlsonsw.com, and its SurvCE Resource Center, www.survce.com.
Featuring hundreds of additions and improvements in addition to retaining its main and universal advantages, which include a simple interface, quick learning curve, and now even stronger graphics, Carlson SurvCE 3.0 was just released at the end of April.
“We’ve found that because SurvCE3.0, in addition to being feature-rich, supports the widest range of widely used and new release RTK GPS and conventional/robotic total stations of any other data collection software on the market, the software is extremely popular with those who do not want or can’t afford to be confined to specific brands,” says Bruce Carlson, president of Carlson Software.

This integration will provide the ability to attach pictures to points and lines and store in KMZ and EXIF files containing relevant data such as position and description.

• Ability to stake roads by complete LandXML Road Model—a new method augmenting “By Sections,” “By Templates,” and “From Map;”
• Ability to use point “blocks” from drawings as point symbols or as objects to snap to for stakeout or for creating alignments, with GIS attributes associated with blocks recognized;
• Large Point ID and Description Fields – expanded to 256 characters;
• Use of RTCM 3.1 messages from virtual reference stations to auto-compute grid and geoid shifts.
