Coordinate Metrology Society Hosts Career Fair at 2013 Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference

CMS Invites Engineers, Industrial Professionals and Students to Learn about Metrology and Career Opportunities

San Diego, CA – April 29, 2013 – The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS), the eminent membership association for measurement professionals, today announced they will host a Career Fair during the 29th annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC), July 22 – 26, 2013, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina, 1380 Harbor Island Drive, San Diego, CA. The Career Fair will be held on Thursday, July 25, from 10am – 11:30am in the Exhibition Hall. Admission to the CMSC Metrology Career Fair is free. This event is designed to generate interest in the field of metrology (the science of measurement), and to engage and educate students, young engineers, measurement novices and experts, and industrial professionals looking for a new career path. The Career Fair is ideal for those with backgrounds in engineering and manufacturing. Attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes and questions about the field of metrology. Visitors must check in at the Conference Registration Desk to gain entry to the Metrology Career Fair.

Career Fair attendees will have the opportunity to meet more than 40 OEM manufacturers, service providers, and other companies involved with close-tolerance industrial coordinate measurement and technology, including Nikon Metrology, FARO Technologies, Hexagon Metrology, ATT Metrology Services, and more. The organization’s quarterly market research shows that more than 20 Metrology companies had job openings, and this trend is expected to continue into the foreseeable future.

The CMSC Exhibitor Hall will feature service providers and vendors of portable measurement technology including industrial photogrammetry solutions, laser trackers, laser radars, articulating arms, GPS systems, laser scanners, laser projection systems, theodolites and much more. For the first time at the Conference, examinations for the CMS Level-One Certification for 3D Portable Metrology will be offered during the conference.
