Colorado Springs, CO – April 15, 2013. – Basis Software, Inc. announced the release of their latest hemispherical laser scanner, the Surphaser 100HSX at the 2013 SPAR International Conference.
The 100HSX brings several significant advances beyond the current Surphaser 25HSX to the short to medium range scanner market. The 100HSX offers a substantial increase in the practical scanning range providing up to 130m of reliable distance resolution all while decreasing the range noise (especially on dark surfaces), and allowing scan rates of up to 1.2 million points per second. This is especially impressive given the 25HSX’s reputation for producing one of the cleanest point cloud datasets of any comparable scanning system. The exceptionally clean point clouds produced by Surphaser laser scanners enable efficient modeling and provide the best source material for automated modeling applications.
The 100HSX is available in two configurations, the 100HSX-Lite and the 100HSX-PC. While both configurations are shipped with the 100HSX Scanhead and Basis’ SurphExpress Software Suite; the 100HSX-PC adds a battery adapter, two batteries, and a built in PC for onboard control of scanning operations. The 100HSX-PC is the first Surphaser to ship with onboard controls and a snap-on battery power supply. These additions further enhance the Surphaser line of scanners by providing users with increased capabilities along with their unquestionable accuracy.
