Vizup Sets a New Record in 3D Model Decimation with the Release of 64-bit SDK

New 64-bit version of Vizup 3D model optimization toolkit decimates polygonal meshes with billions of triangles up to 100 times without a need for a supercomputer.

Cambridge, MA. October 18, 2012 – Vizup, the leading provider of 3D model optimization and polygon reduction software, announces today immediate availability of new 64-bit version of Vizup SDK. Built on a scalable 64-bit platform, the new Vizup SDK allows reducing polygonal models with billions of triangles by up to 99% while preserving the visualization quality along with minimum geometry degradation.

The Vizup SDK, a flagship offering in the company´s product line, allows third-party application developers to fully benefit from the Vizup ultimate 3D optimization technology. Unlike solutions to date, the new version of Vizup SDK is designed to remedy lingering, unaddressed problems with over sampled models that have plagued computer graphics industry for decades.

"We see an increasing interest in Vizup optimization technology from Geomatics and Virtual Reality application developers along with 3D scanner and LiDAR users and manufacturers. Our new 64-bit SDK version will help our customers bring humongous geo-spatial models with billions of triangles back under control," said Alexander Kogan, CEO,Vizup.

Highlights of new SDK features include:
• Scalable 64-bit architecture with application controlled memory footprint
• One step "Instant LOD chain" generation
• "Lean optimization" mode for models over 1B polygons
• Advanced support for visual attributes and non-continuous textures
• Model topology repair, normal reconstructions and refinement
• Rich and straightforward C++ API with detailed usage examples

"When dealing with such huge models it is important not only to efficiently use every bit of memory, but also not to consume all the available resources to let the rest of the application to function properly, " says Serge Zavelski, CTO, Vizup. "I am proud to say that the ability to control the amount of memory for the optimization makes the new Vizup SDK a good citizen in any 3D product."

Vizup SDK 64-bit version is currently available for Windows. Versions for Linux and OS X are in the works. Prices start from $495 for a single-user monthly subscription license. More information about Vizup SDK can be found at Vizup website where customers can also request an evaluation version.
