Anchorage, AK, September 19, 2012 – AeroMetric has hired Jana DaSilva Lage as an account manager in their Alaska office. In this role she will be connecting with public and private sector clients, particularly in the oil and gas, mining, shoreline and environmental markets. Lage brings 20 years of varied experience to this position.
“Jana brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to AeroMetric. Her previous assignments in government and industry have given her a broad background, from data acquisition to permitting. She is a published author and speaker, and is well regarded in the Alaska geospatial community,” said Tony Follett, senior vice president and Alaska region manager.
“I am very excited to be a part of AeroMetric’s skilled and dedicated team, using the latest GIS and mapping technology. In particular, I enjoy supporting clients through the complete project lifecycle, and exploring our broad range of technical options to simplify their processes and address their needs with on target geospatial solutions,” said Lage.
Prior to joining AeroMetric, Lage worked as a regulator and geophysicist for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management where she coordinated permits for geophysical data collection, reviewed shallow hazards data, contributed to, and reviewed NEPA documents in the outer continental shelf region of Alaska. Previous experience with Fugro provided opportunities to manage projects on all coasts of the United States and in the Caribbean. Under a contract to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, she managed and provided logistics support for many significant, multi-million dollar surveys in remote areas in Alaska, in addition to post-assessments of debris distribution in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on the Gulf of Mexico coast.
Lage, a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, was awarded a Masters in geology and geophysics by Rice University in Houston, Texas. She has written or co-authored over 25 technical papers and publications. Lage is a Registered Professional Geologist, holds the Antarctic Service Medal of the United States of America, and in addition to English, she speaks both Italian and Spanish.
