Midland GIS Solutions Establishes New Partnership with Farmington, MO

Maryville, MO – Located just 60 miles south of St. Louis, Missouri, the City of Farmington has taken a progressive step in converting their AutoCAD utility maps into a GIS mapping program. The City consisting of approximately 16,200 people has recently contracted with Midland GIS Solutions to develop a comprehensive GIS program of their electric utility network and implement an Integrity web GIS site for the City to manage their GIS data.

Midland GIS Solutions will locate the primary electric network features contained within the defined project limits by utilizing GPS equipment with decimeter (four inch) level accuracy. Existing GIS data from St. Francois County, aerial photography and the City’s existing zoning boundary data will also be incorporated into the GIS program. Midland GIS Solutions will also create a City-wide address layer based off of the City’s current AutoCAD maps.

Finally, Midland GIS Solutions will design and host an Integrity GIS website for the City of Farmington, to manage, maintain and analyze their electric utility assets and infrastructure through a secure, user-friendly website. The City’s data will be available to authorized users in a multi-user environment. The project is scheduled to begin this month and will be completed by December 31st.
