Is Recognized for Special Contributions in Support of Fiatech’s ‘Collaborating with a Neutral 3D Model’ Project
Exton, Pa. – April 27, 2012 – Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure, today announced that Bentley solutions architect Glen Worrall was presented with a Fiatech 2011 Superior Technical Achievement Recognition (STAR) Award at the sixth annual Celebration of Engineering & Technology Innovation Gala in Miami, Fla. The STAR award is presented each year to members in recognition of their achievements and contributions to Fiatech. Worrall received the award for his special contributions in support of Fiatech’s “Collaborating with a Neutral 3D Model” project and his endeavors that ensure Fiatech continues its work with the iRING User Group and the POSC Caesar Association.
Ray Topping, director, Fiatech, said, “We are pleased to honor Glen for his commitment to our mission of advancing the implementation of technology and innovative practices, and delivering the highest business value to capital projects. Glen’s outstanding and valuable contributions keep us in a leadership position in the capital projects industry.”
Nicole Testa Boston, deputy director, Fiatech added, “Our STAR Award recognizes superior technical achievements, and that is certainly true of Glen. Without his leadership and the sacrifice of his personal time, we could not have broadened our reach across the industry and around the world like we have.”
Worrall has also been actively involved in the testing of open source iRINGTools software, which has been useful to the Fiatech iRINGTools Interfacing Project (IIP). In addition, he has shown the capability of ISO 15926 in several proof-of-concept and pilot demonstrations that extend its use to detailed engineering and construction applications. His work at Bentley includes efforts to enable designers, builders, and owner-operators of process plants to benefit from enhanced software interoperability through the use of products based on ISO 15926 and i-models.
