Aurora, CO – April 20, 2012 – Ralph W. Christie, Jr. PE, Chairman and CEO of Merrick & Company (www.merrick.com) has been selected as a National Vice Chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies’ (ACEC) and member of the Executive Committee. Christie assumed the role effective in April for ACEC National, the 5,000-member national organization that advocates for engineering companies in the USA. His term runs for two years.
ACEC’s Executive Committee’s purpose is to provide support to the Board as well as leadership on a wide range of issues important to engineering firms in the United States. The committee also communicates with ACEC members on vital issues that will affect their businesses. Mr. Christie was also recently named 2012-2013 Chair of ACEC’s National Energy & Environment Committee.
Mr. Christie (right) stays active within his community. He is a founding board member of the Colorado Space Business Roundtable and served as co-chair of the Colorado Space Coalition for nearly eight years. He served as chair of the board for the Aurora Economic Development Council and held a four-year board term for Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, and is an executive committee member of the Aurora Economic Development Council. Mr. Christie is a director on the Colorado State Bank and Trust’s Advisory Board the past four years.
