RETTEW Honored as A Best Place to Work in Pennsylvania

Firm Ranks 12th Among Large Companies

Lancaster, Pa. — RETTEW, an engineering, planning and environmental consulting firm recently ranked 12th among large companies on the list of Best Places to Work in PA. RETTEW received the honors at an awards dinner held Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the Lancaster County Convention Center, Lancaster, Pa.

“We take pride in our employees and look for opportunities at every turn to reward them for their hard work and commitment to RETTEW,” said Mark Lauriello, PE, president, RETTEW. “Our coming in at 12th on the list of Best Places to Work in PA is proof of RETTEW’s commitment to our employees.”

Ranking is determined via a two-part survey process managed by Best Companies Group. Part one determines 25 percent of a company’s score and consists of an employer survey regarding benefits, policies, practices and other information. Part two determines 75 percent of a company’s score and consists of a confidential employee survey used to evaluate an employee’s workplace experience in the areas of engagement and satisfaction. Employee survey comments lauded RETTEW for its family atmosphere, advancement opportunities, strong leadership, flexible work schedules and respect the firm has for its employees.

“The company makes each employee feel important and valued, they give back to and recognize employees in several ways, and they are family-oriented,” was one employee survey comment.

A total of 100 companies received ranking on the list of Best Places to Work in PA. As a result of RETTEW’s doubling staff in the past year, 2011 marks the first year that the firm has entered the competition as a large company (more than 250 employees). In addition to adding nearly 200 employees, bringing the total number of employees to approximately 400, in 2011 RETTEW added Pennsylvania offices in Athens and Pittsburgh and expanded its offices in Lancaster, the Lehigh Valley and Williamsport, Pa.

“A large part of our success has to do with our employees, who are dedicated to their profession, delighting our clients and doing a great job” added Lauriello.
