Merrick’s National Director of Sustainable Infrastructure Receives Distinguished Award

Aurora, CO – December 9, 2011 – Merrick & Company’s (www.merrick.com) Peter Binney, PE, National Director of Sustainable Infrastructure, recently received the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) national President’s Medal for his dedicated leadership and influence in developing the national sustainable infrastructure project rating system and its accreditation program. Binney was a lead contributor in the development of the sustainable infrastructure rating systems that will further promote sustainable infrastructure design and construction practices. The development of this program was supported by ASCE as well as the American Consulting Engineers Council and American Public Works Association.

Not more than two individuals can be nationally recognized and awarded the ASCE President’s Medal each year. The award was established in 1986. The award honors the accomplishments and contributions of outstanding engineers to the profession, the Society or the public.

Binney offers more than 30 years’ experience and leads Merrick’s sustainable infrastructure program with responsibilities including expanding Merrick’s water infrastructure business across the U.S. and leading Merrick’s sustainable infrastructure practice through the firm’s 13 offices.
