(Norcross, Ga., 12 September 2011) Leica Geosystems has announced an upcoming free webinar, “The Top 3 Overlooked Ways to Maximize Your Scan Data Collection,” the latest in the company’s popular free webinar series. In this edition, Mike Harvey, product marketing manager of Leica Geosystems, will explore three important ways to help viewers boost their laser scanning efforts.

For scanning professionals who have ever been on a site and said to themselves,“There has to be an easier way to collect scan data,” this educational webcast offers a quick, easy way to learn how.

“Many scanning professionals say the true ‘magic’ of scan data happens in the office,” Harvey said, “but if the field data isn’t captured properly, the office experience won’t be very magical. In fact, it can be downright nasty. ”

Join Harvey as he explores various techniques to turn your laser scanning efforts from good to great, including auto recognition and registration, techniques for using multiple traverse loops, and utilization of one-button scanning.

Harvey has been involved in many of Leica Geosystems’ most exciting projects, from scanning Mount Rushmore to being one of the major contributing authors of the HDS Training Manuals. He has more than 10 years of experience with HDS, and earned an LSIT from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as a B.S. in civil engineering. Before his employment with Leica Geosystems, Harvey worked for a private civil/surveying company in Massachusetts, where he completed a multitude of projects with laser scanning.

Harvey will be joined by Alfredo Bermudez, a project surveyor with more than 20 years of experience in a variety of public and private sector projects, overseeing field work and performing quality control. Bermudez is proficient in the primary analysis of field data with a strong background in computers and surveying computations.

There are no prerequisites for attending this free webinar, and the content will be recorded so viewers can access it again later. To register, please visit www.sparpointgroup.com/Webinars/Top-3-Overlooked-Ways-to-Maximize-Your-Scan-Data-Collection/
