Get in the Fast Lane with Carlson Software at Intergeo, Sept. 27-29

Presenting Total Project Solutions that Speed and Ease Work

Nuremberg, Germany; INTERGEO 2011 (September 2011) – Carlson Software will be highlighting its comprehensive software solutions and integrated hardware options for the full cycle of land development or mining projects at Intergeo. The annual geodesy, geoinformation and land management trade fair and conference is being held in Nuremberg, Germany, Sept. 27 through 29.

Carlson representatives from throughout Europe and the United States and from Australia will be on hand to demonstrate the software and hardware produced by Carlson for the following industries: land surveying, civil engineering, construction/machine control, mining, accident reconstruction and agriculture.

“Carlson offers one solution for both office and field,” says Bruce Carlson, president and founder of Carlson Software, who will be hands-on at the Carlson stands, Hall 7A, Stand D53, or outdoors at Hall Freigelände, Stand FG100, during the event.

“Carlson is designed to simplify work flow with one TIN Model for surfaces, one Road Model for design and stakeout of roads, one Hydrology Model for storm sewer and drainage design, one set of codes for symbols and linework, all linked, easy to learn and use and applying to everything from point clouds to survey work,” he adds.

Carlson’s 2012 edition of its CAD-based office software modules – Survey, Civil, Hydrology, GIS, Point Cloud, Construction, Takeoff, Geology, Surface/Underground Mining, and Natural Regrade – will have just been released in early September.  Highlights include increased 3D visualization and 3D coding, and the ability to produce customized, more professional reports among the software’s hundreds of improvements.

Also newly released in time for Intergeo will be Carlson’s SurvPC data collection software, which has been recently updated to enable the land surveyor to work in the GIS environment.

“This new capability of SurvPC enables surveyors to work in the ArcGIS® system, yet with the interface they are familiar with,” adds Carlson. “This means there will be no need to spend any time learning new software before taking this out in the field and collecting data.”

In the new ArcGIS-enabled version of Carlson SurvPC, Esri’s Desktop can be used intuitively to perform all survey functions; ArcGIS points, lines and polygons can be used for staking. ArcGIS Nodes can be used for resections and localization; and users will be able to query GIS feature attributes at any time with the Store Points, Stake Points, and Map View screens.

In addition to demo-ing recent upgrades, Carlson is holding a free technical training session for Carlson SurvCE designed to update product users, distributors, and business managers on the newest attributes of the data collection software and to illustrate SurvCE’s unique Advanced Roading module. The event will be held from 10:00 to 17:00 on Monday, Sept. 26, in the Budapest Room in Hall 7A, at the Nuremberg Convention Center. To register, email Barbara Carlson at barbcarlson@carlsonsw.com.
