FME SDK Toolkit Enables More Data to be Used and Shared by Cadcorp Users

Vancouver, BC, August 30, 2011 – Safe Software announced today that Cadcorp has leveraged the FME SDK developer toolkit to build support for Cadcorp products’ formats into Safe Software’s FME. This new support extends the possibilities for Cadcorp users by helping them efficiently use and share more data. It has now been made available, at no additional charge, as part of Cadcorp SIS Map Modeller.

Cadcorp has made their formats available to be read and written in FME by using Safe Software’s FME SDK toolkit. Cadcorp’s customers can now take advantage of FME’s unmatched transformation capabilities to prepare nearly any data for use within Cadcorp products or for sharing with others.

The FME SDK toolkit has been used by over 40 organizations, enabling them to enrich their applications by offering FME’s unmatched data transformation capabilities and support for 250+ formats to their own customers.

Using FME’s efficient batch processing capabilities, these users can quickly overcome any barriers they face in preparing data for use – including data restructuring, coordinate system conversion, format conversion and more – so they can focus their time on accomplishing their goals rather than preparing data. They can also use FME’s on-demand data delivery capabilities to efficiently share data out to the people who need it, across the organization and beyond.

“Cadcorp’s products are well known for their extensive format support,” says Martin Daly, Technical Director of Cadcorp. “However, by using Safe Software’s FME SDK toolkit, we were able to further extend our users’ format reach and provide them with access to FME’s well respected transformation capabilities.”

As the industry leading spatial data transformation technology, FME is the solution of choice for overcoming the challenges organizations face in using and sharing spatial data. FME technology is the choice of leading GIS, CAD, and database vendors for integration into their own solutions and is used by hundreds of thousands of customers across a wide range of industries, worldwide.

“We’re pleased to have the opportunity to extend our support to Cadcorp users,” says Dale Lutz, Vice President of Development at Safe Software. “We look forward to seeing the innovative ways Cadcorp users will take advantage of FME in their daily workflows.”
