Stagg Elected to MAPPS Board of Directors

Sheboygan, Wisconsin, July 22, 2011 – MAPPS, the only national association for private sector geospatial firms, has elected Tim Stagg of AeroMetric as one of three new members to serve a one year term on the board of directors. In addition, Stagg was elected secretary of the board.

Stagg, far right in the image below, a vice president of business development, is responsible for leading AeroMetric’s nationwide mapping and geospatial services for federal, energy infrastructure and transportation markets. He oversees client relationships, contract negotiations, proposal development, presentations, and special program development.

Stagg joined AeroMetric in 2007 and has spearheaded a number of new business development initiatives such as his leadership involving AeroMetric in the FAA’s new Airport GIS program. He also participates in the political process, and has represented the profession of photogrammetry in testimony before the Maryland House of Representatives.

Stagg has varied and progressive photogrammetric experience, from piloting planes for image acquisition, to managing production operations, to being a leader in business development and account management. He currently oversees AeroMetric’s client relationships on multiple contracts, including federal programs for agencies such as USGC, NOAA, BOR and several Corps of Engineers districts. Stagg holds a BS degree in geography, cartography and remote sensing from Frostburg State University in Maryland, and is a licensed private pilot. Stagg said, “I am honored to be joining the MAPPS board of directors. The organization makes contributions in so many meaningful areas and I look forward to participating in developing practical solutions to the issues at hand.”

Marvin Miller, AeroMetric senior vice present and past MAPPS president said, “The strength of the MAPPS board rests on its members and their personal contributions. With his vast experience and knowledge of the geospatial profession, combined with strong working relationships with many federal agencies, Tim Stagg is a notable addition to the board. His insight will be instructive as the board continues to actively promote the values, principles, and ideas of the membership, driving MAPPS to become an even greater influence within the geospatial profession.”
