Aero-Photo (1961) Inc. Upgrades to Microsoft UltraCamXp

Graz, Austria — June 7, 2011 — Aero-Photo (1961) Inc. has contracted with Vexcel Imaging GmbH, a Microsoft® company, to upgrade its UltraCamLp to an UltraCamXp digital aerial photogrammetric camera system.

”Aero-Photo decided to upgrade to an UltraCamXp to standardize our processes and be more efficient on large aerial photography projects,” explained Mr. Paul Grenier, President of Aero-Photo (1961) Inc. “By having three UltraCamXp cameras at our disposal, multiple aircraft are able to work on the same project simultaneously and collect compatible data.”

Aero-Photo (1961) Inc. will use all three of its UltraCamXp digital cameras for large-area projects throughout North America.

“Microsoft is happy to provide Aero-Photo with an UltraCamXp camera system that is the best fit for its project needs,” said Alexander Wiechert, Microsoft Business Director. “The Microsoft upgrade program allows our customers to grow their businesses while being responsive to changing conditions.”

About the UltraCamXp
The UltraCamXp photogrammetric digital aerial camera, released in 2008, provides a pixel size of 6 micrometers and a footprint of 196 megapixels (17,310 across track x 11,310 along track). The resolution ratio of 1:3 between pan and color bands allows the production of high-resolution pan-sharpened products. The low-cost, exchangeable on-board storage devices hold up to 6,600 images each—approximately 4.2 terabytes of data. The vast storage capability allows for more efficient data collection as a result of uninterrupted image collection and minimal ground time.
