April 26, 2011 – Elyria, Ohio – KS Associates would like to commend its employees for helping the firm maintain an excellent safety record. On Wednesday, April 20, 2011, KS was recognized by the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce Safety Council for its safety performance.
For the sixth consecutive year, KS received the 100% Award for reporting no lost-time injuries in 2010. A lost-time injury is defined as a work-related injury or illness where the affected person is unable to complete the next shift.
And, for the second year in a row, KS received the Special Award, given to companies that work more than 500,000 hours with no lost-time injuries. KS’s 2010 Special Award recognizes the firm for working 578,500 injury-free hours for seven years, from 2003 to 2010. This includes full- and part-time workers, as well as overtime hours worked.
KS attributes its excellent safety record to employees who take safety seriously, and to a relentless focus on safety. KS maintains a comprehensive program designed to keep all employees – both field and office personnel – out of harm’s way. The firm holds monthly Survey Safety Meetings, regularly issues information on health and wellness, and publishes a Health and Safety Field Manual customized to address the unique and often potentially hazardous environments in which field personnel work.
