Tarrant Appraisal District, Texas Chooses to Upgrade with Manatron’s State-of-the-Art CAMA Software

Portage, MI — April 4, 2011 – Manatron, Inc., a leader in providing integrated property tax and land administration software for governments worldwide, today announced that Texas’s Tarrant Appraisal District (AD) has contracted with Manatron to implement its GRM computer-aided mass appraisal (CAMA) software to serve as its newly integrated assessment system.

Tarrant AD is the second-largest appraisal district in Texas and encompasses more than 822,000 parcels. When the district discussed upgrading its current property assessment system, it conducted an extensive search for a company that offered a product with complete integration potential. Manatron was eventually selected by Tarrant AD’s Board of Directors in a competitive bid process for its knowledge of government software, its technical resources and the company’s stability and growth. The district also cited Manatron’s existing knowledge of Tarrant AD staff and its internal processes as important considerations.

“GRM CAMA is a state-of-the-art product and will position us well for future initiatives and provides present day solutions to serving the taxpayers and taxing entities of Tarrant County,” said Jeff Law, Chief Appraiser at Tarrant AD. “Manatron was the clear choice when we searched for a partner to upgrade. We are confident they will successfully complete the conversion process given their experience and knowledge of our district and the industry as a whole.”

Throughout the implementation process, Manatron will be preparing Tarrant AD for a more technically advanced future as the product will allow the district to improve communication and interaction with the tax payers and will offer better methods of evaluation and use of resources. The software has an anticipated 2012 launch date.

“We look forward to working with Tarrant AD on this project,” said Early Stephens, Manatron’s chief technology officer. “This is an excellent example of how technology can be used as a tool to better serve constituents and it is exciting to see Tarrant AD taking such a proactive approach on behalf of the district.”
