Philadelphia, PA – Pennoni Associates, an ENR Top 115 engineering, survey, design and consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia, is pleased to announce Staff Surveyor Shaheed Smith, PLS, will be speaking on behalf of the Philadelphia region at the National Society of Professional Surveyors “NSPS Surveying USA” event taking place outside of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Saturday, March 19th. The affair will serve as a kick-off to National Surveyor’s Week and will be one of many events happening around the country involving surveyors from across the nation, as well as Guam and Puerto Rico.
National Surveyor’s Week will be taking place from Sunday, March 20th, through Saturday, March 27th. This event is slated to be the largest simultaneous gathering of survey data for the single adjustment by National Geodetic Survey. The goal is that this effort will raise public awareness of the surveying profession and obtain GPS observance of as many monuments as we can populate by gathering simultaneous survey data. During this Saturday’s event, Mr. Smith will be answering questions about GPS.
Mr. Smith is the Division Manager for Pennoni’s Doylestown office and has over 15 years of both field and office experience providing surveying services. He currently serves as the president on the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors’ Bucks County Chapter. His project experience includes everything from large tract boundary projects and commercial projects, to route and topographic surveys for road and utility construction and high-definition laser scanning, as well as many other types of services. Mr. Smith has performed or coordinated surveys for local, county, state and federal agencies as well as the private sector in Florida, New Jersey, New York Delaware, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
