Graz, Austria — March 3, 2011 — Geodeticca 3D Works has contracted with Vexcel Imaging GmbH, a Microsoft® company, to purchase an UltraCamLp digital aerial camera system. This is the first digital aerial camera ever purchased by a Slovak company. The transaction was realized by UltraCam distributor Expert_for_3D_Landscape, based in Bratislava, Slovakia.
”We selected the UltraCamLp because of the technical features that perfectly met our needs, such as simultaneous acquisition of five spectral bands and the monolithic stitching method a high level of accuracy and reliability,” stated Ing. Marek Kožarík, PhD, Chief Development Officer for Geodeticca 3D Works. “We were also influenced by Vexcel Imaging’s superb reputation in the industry and local customer support, both of which were important considerations for us.”
The UltraCamLp combines innovative hardware, electronics and software that result in a lighter, more compact camera system compared to other UltraCam systems, so it is suitable for smaller aircraft and projects requiring a rapid response. However, the camera provides the same high geometric accuracy, broad dynamic range, stereo capabilities, and full metric capabilities as the UltraCamX, UltraCamXp, and UltraCamXp Wide Angle large-format cameras.
“Microsoft and Vexcel Imaging are pleased that Geodeticca 3D Works selected the UltraCamLp as its first digital aerial camera,” said Alexander Wiechert, Microsoft Business Director for Vexcel Imaging GmbH. “The company will now be able to expand into new markets and enjoy the competitive advantages that come with working in a complete digital environment.”
About the UltraCamLp
The UltraCamLp offers the functionality of a large-format camera in a compact package, setting a unique price/performance standard for photogrammetric imaging operations. The camera collects five spectral bands per exposure: red, green, blue and near-infrared data, in addition to the higher-resolution panchromatic data. The UltraCamLp features an image footprint collection capacity of 92 megapixels (11,704 x 7,920 pixels pan), made possible through advanced electronics and a smaller CCD array of just 6 µm. The system is ideal for smaller large-scale and photogrammetric projects, high-resolution (true) orthophoto production, DSM (digital surface model) production, aerotriangulation, corridor mapping, classification, and lidar integration.
