Learn to employ the new ArcPad tools and methods at the free live training seminar Field GIS: Collecting and Editing Data Using ArcPad 10.
The presenters will first provide a quick overview of ArcPad 10, Esri’s mobile mapping and field data collection software for capturing, editing, and displaying geographic information. The advantages of using the technology when working with data in the field will be detailed, and the basics, such as the best collection and editing tools, methods, and workflows to use, will be covered. You will see demonstrations of the available editing tools used to update both the geometry and attributes of the data’s features.
The presenters will also demonstrate how you can add geographic content to ArcPad by tapping into online sources such as Bing Maps; user-published services; and external input devices such as GPS devices, cameras, and range finders. Additionally, they will describe how you can quickly get started creating your own data from scratch while in the field using the QuickProject tool and preconfigured templates.
