Montreal — Geneq Inc., the pioneer in high-performance single frequency GPS mapping systems, announced one of the world’s smallest dual frequency (GPS L1/L2) GPS RTK receivers for high-accuracy GIS data collection. Named the SXBlue III GPS, it is one of the smallest dual frequency RTK GPS receivers in the world, weighing slightly more than one pound (517g) and fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand. Equally small is its patch antenna. At only 5.5cm wide and weighing a mere 80 grams, it’s easily one of the smallest dual frequency antennas in the world.
The SXBlue III GPS uses innovative technology that puts dual frequency GPS RTK in one of the smallest packages ever. You get 51 channels of proven 1-cm RTK performance from a lightweight unit that fits in the palm of your hand, including a field-replaceable, 9-hour Li-Ion battery. The SXBlue III GPS tracks L1 C/A code and L1 P(Y)/L2 P(Y) carrier phase as well as SBAS (WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS/GAGAN). With support for RTK Networks included and an L2C upgrade available, your investment is protected well into the future.
In addition to RTK, you also have the option of using L1 SBAS for sub-meter mapping that the SXBlue has built its reputation on. Having the choice of using either L1/L2 RTK for real-time centimeter accuracy or L1 SBAS for 60cm real-time mapping provides you the flexibility that no other unit of this size and price can offer.
A pioneer implementing Bluetooth technology, Geneq’s SXBlue product line offers bullet-proof Bluetooth technology for ultimate flexibility in connecting to a wide variety of smartphones, PDAs, tablet computers and notebook computers. The SXBlue III GPS incorporates a long-range Class 1 Bluetooth transceiver capable of communicating at distances of over 250 meters.
As with the entire SXBlue product line, the SXBlue III GPS is built to work in the toughest environments. It is designed to meet the stringent IP-67 environmental rating which means it’s rugged, water-proof and will survive accident immersion in water at 30cm depth for up to 30 minutes.
The SXBlue III is targeted at GPS/GIS mapping and surveying professionals in industries such as Forestry, Utility, Agriculture and other Natural Resources industries in addition to Municipal, State and Federal Government users.
