Euroconsult Award Highlights Company’s Vision, Growth and Innovation
Dulles, Va., Sept. 8 — GeoEye, Inc. (Nasdaq: GEOY), a premier provider of superior satellite and aerial-based geospatial information and services, announced today it has been named Earth Observation Operator of the Year by Euroconsult.
The award was presented to Matt O’Connell, GeoEye’s chief executive officer and president, in Paris during the World Satellite Business Week, the industry’s premier event now in its 14th year.
"The Euroconsult awards recognize companies and their leaders who, through their vision, innovation or performance have had a major impact on the satellite industry in the past year," said Pacome Revillon, CEO of Euroconsult. "This tradition at World Satellite Business Week allows these business leaders to celebrate together the winners and the overall success of the industry."
The awards are presented to companies for outstanding achievement in several categories and are based on quantitative data such as performance indicators including EBITDA, revenue and profit growth, subscriber or terminal growth and market penetration; and qualitative data such as innovation, strategic decision making and overall impact on the industry. A jury of industry experts from Euroconsult, Space News and Satellite Finance determines these awards.
"I am very proud to accept this award on behalf of all GeoEye employees, our global partners, customers and investors," said O’Connell. "Our vision is to be the world’s best source for location information and insight, so we’re honored to receive Euroconsult’s prestigious award."
