Tallahassee, Fla. — (October 2009) — Steven Stinson, a founding partner and president of Meridian Surveying and Mapping Inc. in Tallahassee, is the new president of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society (FSMS).
The FSMS is a professional membership society representing the surveying and mapping profession. The statewide organization has more than 1,700 member firms and professional members with active chapters in every region of the state.
Stinson will serve a one-year term along with newly installed Vice President Jeremiah Slaymaker, survey manager of Baskerville-Donovan Inc. in Tallahassee.
The FSMS 2009-2010 board also includes President-Elect Daniel D. Ferrans, founding partner of Polaris Associates Inc. in Tampa; Secretary David Hyatt, president of Marco Surveying and Mapping in Marco Island; Treasurer Ken Glass, director of surveying and mapping at Keith and Schnars, P.A., in Lakeland; and Immediate Past President Pablo Ferrari, Vice President of Geomatics Corp. in St. Augustine.
