SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 28, 2009 – Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today the launch of a new Webinar series for the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) professional.
These instructive sessions are live, interactive, online events that cover a range of topics including new product introductions, industry solutions for the field worker, business partner offerings, and education on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology in mapping and GIS. To be offered every 4-6 weeks, the Webinars provide a forum for learning about new technology developments from Trimble as well as keeping up with the latest trends in geo-enabling the mobile workforce.

"The Webinars provide an interactive environment for learning about positioning and geospatial technology while networking with Trimble staff, industry experts, and online participants."
The first session, held on July 2, 2009, focused on the new Trimble Professional Services (TPS) group. TPS offers software development for field data capture and mobile GIS solutions using Trimbler FastmapT technology, including back office integration and system implementation. TPS services are currently available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and have been deployed in a broad range of industries including utilities, agriculture, public works, emergency management, and environmental management. The August 19, 2009 session focused on new solutions from Trimble’s Utility Field Solutions (TUFS) group, which included the Trimble UtilityCenterr Field Inspector and Maintenance-2 Software
The schedule for upcoming Webinars includes: an introduction to the new Trimble YumaT rugged tablet computer, Virtual Reference Station (VRST) applications for real-time data corrections, and industry solutions from Trimble business partners.
