The Voice of Pacific Crest is Quiet Due to Loss of Jim Jacquin

Jim Jacquin, 63, of Pacific Crest in Sunnyvale, CA, died July 22 following a short illness. Jim was the “Voice of Pacific Crest” for over 10 years as he deftly handled all support calls from around the world. His dedication and patience, coupled with his depth of knowledge, established Jim as an essential resource for Pacific Crest customers and partners. No problem was unsolvable.

Prior to coming to Pacific Crest, Jim was awarded a New York State Regents Scholarship and attended Colgate University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. College was followed by military service and he served in Vietnam as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He also received a Masters of Business Administration from Golden Gate University. Over the years Jim held positions in various industries from Kidder, Peabody, & Co. as a stockbroker to an economics and business instructor at Monterey Peninsula College and Saint Mary’s College in California.

Jim joined Pacific Crest in 1998 and built a reputation as the answer man in the radio communications and GPS positioning industry. He authored a column in the quarterly newsletter, “Ask Jim,” where he featured common and not-so common questions from customers. Jim had passion for photography and was published nationally. He had a commercial pilot’s license and enjoyed flying when he wasn’t traveling around in his classic muscle car. As the Voice of Pacific Crest, Jim could be seen in his headset, walking the halls, quietly answering a customer’s concerns with a smile on his face and in his voice. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit and his incredible knowledge of radios and GPS.
