Registration Open for the 2009 ESRI Southwest User Group Conference

Registration is now open for 2009 ESRI Southwest User Conference focusing on ESRI and open-source GIS solutions.

April 22, 2009, Pueblo, CO – The ESRI Southwest Users Group Planning Committee announced that registration is open for the 2009 SWUG Conference taking place October 19-23 at the Pueblo Convention Center and the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center in Pueblo, Colorado. The conference is one of the premier events of the GIS industry in the southwest region.

The ESRI Southwest Users Group (SWUG) is comprised of ESRI software users in five states – Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The conference is held every fall to provide ESRI users a regional event to learn about the latest ESRI technologies and discuss ESRI software-related topics. This year, the conference will also feature open-source GIS technology.

This year’s theme is “Diversity in Action” reflecting the increasing number of areas where geospatial technology is making a difference. Conference tracts will include energy, natural resources, education, and health topics. The conference program features content aimed at all users of ESRI software and data and an open-source technology. Diversity will also be featured in the socials and food; an ode to Pueblo’s rich cultural heritage.

The conference features three keynotes and will include a technical presentation by a leading ESRI developer. Attendees will see practical applications of GIS technology, hear innovative customer case studies, learn about the company’s latest products and services and also have access to an exhibition of many ESRI-related vendors and sponsors. In addition to the main conference, SWUG 2009 will also present ESRI pre-conference seminars and training, a professional and student poster contest, and a service project that takes place during the conference and highlights ESRI technology.
