Geodynamic Solutions Inc. Introduces WebMaps Enterprise GIS Suite 2.0 for ArcGIS Server

Houston, Texas, 19 May 2009 – Geodynamic Solutions Inc. (GSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of LandWorks Inc., today introduced WebMaps™ Enterprise GIS Suite 2.0, a set of four plug-in tools for ESRI’s ArcGIS Server® 9.3. Offered individually or bundled, these plug-ins expand the out-of-the-box functionally of ESRI’s Web Mapping application to quickly enable advanced web-based GIS functionality.

“GSI developed WebMaps Enterprise GIS Suite 2.0 for any business that wants to provide robust but easy-to-use GIS maps through a web browser to a large number of users,” said Jerry Bramwell, GSI President & CEO. “This expanding tool suite provides a cost-effective way to quickly implement GIS across an enterprise in an open environment where tools from any vendor may be used in combination with our WebMaps tools.”

GSI plans to expand the WebMaps product suite beyond the release of the initial four tools and has several new tools in development. The four tools included in WebMaps Enterprise GIS Suite 2.0 are:
• QuikMap Printer™ – a wizard-driven task that enables users with no GIS experience to create and print high-quality maps of any size or orientation at any scale. Multiple layout template sets and full legend control are supported. Output may be in PDF, JPG, TIF or PNG file format.
• QuikFind™ – a very powerful but flexible search utility that allows users to easily define and save complex queries against features in any GIS layer. Queries can be saved for personal use in the future or published to all users. Selected features are highlighted on the map, and the related attributes can be exported to Excel.
• QuikSelect™ – a combination identify/select tool that enables users to extract feature attributes from map layers based on a variety of selection methods. Selected features are highlighted on the map, and the related attributes can be exported to Excel.
• MapMarks™ – a task that allows users to select a favorite area and zoom extent on a web-based map and return to it automatically with no navigation. Favorite areas may be saved for personal use in the future or published to all users.

Building on the success of the first release of WebMaps Enterprise GIS Suite, GSI sees continued applications of the 2.0 release within state, county and local governments, oil & gas companies, electric utilities, water & flood control districts, pipeline operators, and other enterprise users of ArcGIS 9.3. WebMaps Enterprise GIS Suite 2.0 will also appeal to those now migrating from ESRI ArcIMS installations.

“Whether you’re a first-time or experienced ArcGIS Server user, WebMaps Suite will make it easier to implement GIS across the enterprise – with just a few clicks of the mouse,” said Bramwell.
