Trimble Announces New Data Capture and Analyst Software

Version enables the use of a new 360 degree camera with Trimble’s mobile mapping solution

Las Vegas, Feb. 23, 2009 — Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today a new version of its Trident-3D™ data capture software and analyst software 4.4 for mobile mapping applications that will integrate with the Trimble G360 camera.

The announcement was made today at the 2009 Trimble Dimensions User Conference.

Significant improvements to the solution include:
• The addition of the Trimble G360 camera, providing 360° of imagery (six 1600×1200 cameras), that is integrated in Trident-3D data capture software with real time compression;
• The ability to view, pan, zoom and playback the 360° imagery captured by the Trimble G360 camera in Trident-3D analyst software;
•The capability to extract data from the images by the Trident-3D analyst software, which uses stereo restitution with a dynamic stereo base.

“Panoramic imagery using the Trimble G360 camera is a major step forward for mobile mapping and videolog systems,” said Daniel Desgagné, Geo-3D Business Area Manager, GeoSpatial Division of Trimble. “The Trimble G360 camera provides users with more than eleven and a half million pixels with every image, a vast improvement to the three million pixels found in many comparable systems. The ability to view, geoposition and measure from imagery in any direction from a vehicle opens up new application possibilities and has a direct impact on traditional project productivity as it can substantially shorten data acquisition timeframes and reduce project costs.”
