Featuring 100s of feature improvements, plus new option to work on either AutoCAD® or IntelliCAD®
Maysville, Ky., U.S.A. (April 28, 2008) – Get ready for increased productivity plus the ability to create better designs with Carlson’s new line-up of just-released land development software solutions for 2009.
In addition to 100s of improvements to Carlson’s comprehensive offerings – Carlson Civil 2009, Carlson Survey 2009, Carlson Hydrology 2009, Carlson Mining 2009, Carlson Natural Regrade 2009, Carlson Takeoff 2009 and Carlson GIS 2009 – Carlson office software is now built to run on both AutoCAD® or Map® and IntelliCAD® (ICAD).
“When you buy or upgrade to Carlson 2009,” Bruce Carlson, president and founder of Carlson Software says, “you can work on either AutoCAD or IntelliCAD. We feel it’s important to give our users the choice.”
With this choice of CAD engine, Carlson Software users who already have AutoCAD, versions 2000 all the way up to and including 2009, can work smoothly and effectively on those platforms. Alternatively Carlson’s 2009 products come with ICAD, an effective and lower cost CAD, built in and ready to use for no extra cost.
The new 2009 Carlson software line-up features 100s of improvements in functionality. The overall theme is better annotation for plan production with updates to Profiles, Sections, Area Labels, Station-Offset Labels, Spot Elevations, Sewer Network Labels and Cut/Fill Color Maps. Additional new feature highlights include the ability to view an aerial image draped onto a surface in both the Carlson 3D Viewer and Surface 3D Flyover, to place building pads within lots during layout, and to process multiple pad perimeters at a time (design pad template) with precedence and slopes assigned by layer.
The ability to generate stage-discharge results for ponds is one of the improvements in Hydrology 2009. Also, a new alliance with the developers of the popular stormwater runoff modeling software company HydroCAD means this popular software solution will be integrated with Carlson Hydrology.
In the Mining release, in addition to six new commands to edit, report, highlight and identify fault polylines, users will have new commands to color pits by grade parameters and stored qualities and to draw fault surfaces as 3D faces at dip angles from fault polylines.
Takeoff 2009 improvements include a new set of 19 commands for efficiently managing multiple overexcavation surfaces and volumes on the same site. In addition, users will now be able to input-edit trench network data in a spreadsheet and then to define a group of multiple pipes to assign to trenches.
AutoCAD®, developed by Autodesk®, is the most popular CAD software. IntelliCAD®, developed by the ITC, is a robust, DWG-compatible CAD platform that every CAD developer can build upon.
