Leica Geosystems Readies Latest Advanced Construction Solutions for 2008 World of Concrete

{mosaddphp:mega-house.php}(Norcross, Ga., 10 December 2007)  With more than 3,500sq ft. of floor space at the 2008 World of Concrete, Leica Geosystems will host a uniquely interactive educational and informational exhibit with a complete range of advanced construction products and solutions.

Rich Calvird, Product Marketing Manager with Leica Geosystems, says, “We’re very excited about the 2008 event. The World of Concrete show is a perfect forum to showcase Leica Geosystems’ innovations that are designed to improve accuracy, efficiency and quality on construction projects for concrete and masonry professionals.”

Two new products that will be featured at the Leica Geosystems exhibit booth include the Leica Builder RM power and the PowerBlade machine control system.

The Leica Builder RM power offers site surveyors unrivaled operational simplicity with powerful new construction applications, a large, alphanumeric keyboard with high resolution LCD display and a graphic leveling aid. The Leica Builder RM power’s multiple mode Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM) capabilities add reflectorless ease and extended prism range to this new flagship product of the Builder instrument family.

The new PowerBlade machine control system makes precision laser-based grading available for every machine and budget. Designed for harsh construction use, the Leica PowerBlade system features the easy to use MCP-700 Control Panel and MLS700 Laser Sensor with bright see-at-a-glance LED displays. An optional Electric Mast provides easy grade adjustment from the cab and advanced land-leveling features.

As well, Leica Geosystems will once again host its popular GradeSmart 3D simulator, an innovative 3D video experience that lets visitors sit in the driver’s seat of a dozer while the GradeSmart 3D system completes a grading project. The video provides an overview of the operator interface, plan and cross-section views, as well as the steps to adjust blade heights, side-shift, and hold-slope.

Calvird says, “Our goal is to provide attendees with an opportunity to see and test the latest advancements in the industry in real world applications. The GradeSmart 3D simulator, for instance, is a unique opportunity to see our products at work ‘in the field’ while standing on the exhibit floor.”
