Jack Dangermond to Give Opening Keynote Address at 20th Annual GIS in the Rockies Conference

Denver, Colorado – July 23, 2007 – The program committee for the 2007 GIS in the Rockies Conference announces that ESRI President Jack Dangermond will serve as the opening keynote speaker for the 20th annual conference.

“Jack Dangermond has been a leader in the GIS industry for over thirty years. As we celebrate the 20th year of the GIS in the Rockies conference, we believe his opening address will set exactly the right tone for this year’s event. He is uniquely qualified to speak to the rich history and future of the GIS industry in the Rocky Mountains and beyond,” says Deborah Wilson, member of the GIS in the Rockies Board of Directors.

The GIS in the Rockies planning committee has recently posted exhibit and sponsorship information on the event website. Interested companies and educational institutions may register for booth space and sponsorships on the event website at http://www.gisintherockies.org/exhibitors.

The cost for exhibitor booth space is $975, which includes 8′ x 10′ space, table, electricity, WiFi connection, and two staff badges.  Educational institutions may register for booth space at a cost of $250. Booth space and sponsorship opportunities are limited and will be assigned upon the order that payment is received, so interested companies are urged to return contracts as soon as possible.

The 2007 conference will be held September 12 – 14, 2007 at INVESCO Field at Mile High stadium in Denver, Colorado. The six sponsoring societies have developed a series of program tracks with the theme “Celebrating 20 Spatial Years”. Presentations and workshops are designed to appeal to a broad community of GIS users, surveyors, and other interested technology professionals. The professional societies and organizations share a dedication to promote professional development, education and general community outreach while helping people understand the uses and benefits of the technology.

Questions about exhibiting at the conference should be directed to Kim Longo at vendors@gisintherockies.org or 303-250-0612.
