TopoSys North America Opens Denver Office, Adds Industry Veteran to Staff

Denver, Colorado –  June 4, 2007 –  TopoSys GmbH, Biberach, Germany, has founded a subsidiary to strengthen its position in the North American LIDAR market.  As of February 2007, TopoSys North America, Inc. has established its North American headquarters in Denver, Colo., a major hub in the world-wide geospatial industry, to serve as a sales and support center to meet the ever increasing demand for TopoSys LIDAR systems in the region.

TopoSys North America Inc. is managed by Roman Kathofer, a Geomatics engineer and photogrammetrist with several years experience in photogrammetric mapping and airborne sensing operations.

Roland Mangold joins TopoSys North America, Inc. as director of business development. For the past two years, he was the organizer of the International LIDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) and business development manager at Spectrum Mapping, LLC. Previous to that, Mr. Mangold was the founder and publisher of Earth Observation Magazine. He has 17 years sales, marketing and communications experience in the geospatial industry.

TopoSys had their North American premier at the recent ASPRS conference in Tampa, Fla., exhibiting the TopoSys line of aerial LIDAR mapping systems: The Harrier 56, Harrier 24 and the Falcon III. The conference also provided the ideal venue to unveil TopoSys’s unique approach to the LIDAR mapping systems market.

“As a service provider and LIDAR equipment manufacturer for the past 15 years in Europe, TopoSys intends to bring their wealth of expertise and experience as a service provider to the benefit of LIDAR systems customers in North America.” said Mr. Mangold.

“TopoSys does not, and will not, pursue service business in North America. Their intention is to provide only TopoSys LIDAR systems, and their experience and expertise, to the benefit of North American LIDAR customers by providing turn-key systems so that their customers hit the ground running and remain productive for the long haul.”

TopoSys LIDAR systems are economically priced, allowing engineering, surveying and mapping firms to use this technology for large-scale surveys such as engineering site development, road surveys, power and pipeline monitoring, hydrographic studies of floodplains and coastal erosion and topographic mapping. Operational flexibility, efficient workflow and quick product turn-around are key features of the TopoSys LIDAR systems.
