Denver, Colorado USA – The Board of Directors for the 20th annual GIS in the Rockies Conference issued a Call for Papers today inviting professionals to share experiences and expertise illustrating how surveying and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have emerged over 20 years. The conference will be held September 12-13, 2007 at INVESCO Field at Mile High stadium in Denver, Colorado. It will feature an array of user case studies, technical sessions and vendor presentations through a series of organized tracks. Presentations will be based on abstracts received through the Call for Papers.
“This is an exciting year for the GIS in the Rockies conference and sponsoring organizations. In celebrating our 20th year, the GIS in the Rockies planning committee has assembled a strong set of program tracks that will recognize the rich history and promising future of the geospatial industry in the Rocky Mountain region,” said Chris Longo, Chair of the GIS in the Rockies Planning Committee.
The five sponsoring societies have developed a program track designed to appeal to a broad community of users and interested people. The professional societies and organizations share a dedication to promote professional development, education, and general community outreach while helping people understand the uses and benefits of the technology.
The program tracks for the 2007 GIS in the Rockies Conference are:
• Advanced Data Acquisition and Mapping
• Geospatial Imaging: GIS Foundation and Layers of Value
