Norcross, GA — Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging and Acquis Inc. have strengthened their partnership by delivering interactive mobile access to geospatial information within the Oracle Spatial Enterprise. The demand for accurate and accessible asset information is driving the need for interactive mobile asset management capabilities, which will be featured at GITA and OSUG.
Acquis provides the core technology to capture, query and update geospatial and asset information in real-time, connected or disconnected mode, from any mobile device to an Oracle Spatial database. Acquis extends the same interactive application capability to field engineers as office based personnel, eliminating the need for expensive post data processing. Field engineers can also choose to store, query and update asset maintenance information in a disconnected mode and synchronize to the database at a later point in time.
“Our strategic partnership with Acquis provides processing and delivery of geospatial data on an Oracle enterprise platform,” said Bob Morris, president, Leica Geosystems. “This extends the use of geospatial information for customers who are currently using Oracle and need to manage that information.”
“The value of mobility increases if it is interactively integrated in the enterprise,” said Liam McGeown, CEO of Acquis, Inc. “Moving forward, our work with Leica Geosystems continues to offer the ultimate flexibility for organizations who need to derive value from geospatial information both in the field and in the office.
The following tracks at GITA will include speakers from Acquis: Enterprise Architecture & System Integration and Data Acquisition and Maintenance. The conference will be held March 4 –8, 2007 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Booth #544, San Antonio, Texas.
Presenting at the Oracle Spatial User Group Meeting March 8th, Mr. Jesse M. Day, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise “Virtual” Connected Live Field Data Maintenance. This presentation will review initial data collection and maintenance procedures for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise asset management system (TEAMS) and will detail the development and implementation of a data maintenance system utilizing Oracle Spatial and Acquis’ ADE Remote.
