Submissions from the global geospatial community accepted through Friday, February 23, 2007
Aurora, Colo., Feb. 13, 2007— The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announced the expansion of its second annual competitive Poster Session, set to be displayed as part of its 30 th Annual Conference, slated for March 4-7, 2007, at the Henry B. Organizations wishing to display posters depicting various uses of geospatial technologies are encouraged to submit their entry forms by Friday, February 23, 2007.
The posters will be on display on the conference’s 100,000-square-foot vendor exhibit floor, where each poster will be eligible to win an award in five categories: Best Cartographic, Best 3-Dimensional, Best Analytical, Best Nontraditional, and People’s Choice. The People’s Choice award will be determined by popular vote among the conference attendees. The four remaining awards will be determined by a panel of expert judges. Winners need not be present to win.
The criteria for awards other than People’s Choice are as follows: Best Cartographic: Use of cartographic techniques in creation of intuitive map product. Best 3-Dimensional: Best use of three dimensions in representation of spatial data. Best Analytical: Best interpretation of spatial relationships to extract meaningful results.
