The many interlocking parts of an RTN (reference stations, rovers, central processing center), to truly work together in real-time; require consistent and reliable communications in… well… real-time… The passages of signal, observations, corrections, almanacs, positions – the lifeblood of RTN – must be transmitted, received, processed, re-broadcast, received again, and in some configurations re-processed in a matter of seconds.
