GIS in the Rockies Conference Registration Available Online

Early Registrants Receive Discounted Rate of $200

Denver, Colorado – May 15, 2006 – The program committee for the 2006 GIS in the Rockies Conference announces that event registration information is now available online. Interested GIS users, surveyors, and other interested technology professionals may now register for the event on the event website at http://gisintherockies.org/links1.html.

Attendees who register before August 4, 2006 will receive the early registration discounted rate of $200. Those presenting papers at the conference are eligible for an additionally discounted rate of $150 for the two-day event. 

This year’s theme – “GIS: From Behind the Scene to Extreme” – illustrates the emergence of GIS as not only a mainstream technology, but also one that has gone well beyond a backroom technology used by scientists and mapmakers.

The 2006 conference will be held September 13 – 15, 2006 at INVESCO Field at Mile High stadium in Denver, Colorado. The six sponsoring societies and organizations share a dedication to promote professional development, education and general community outreach while helping people understand the uses and benefits of GIS technology.
