Clary & Associates Professional Surveyors and Mappers Gives Insight into Plat and Subdivision Law

Executive Faculty Proceeds Benefit Pine Castle

Jacksonville, FL — November 9, 2005 — Executives of Clary & Associates Professional Surveyors and Mappers took to the podium on Thursday, October 20th at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront for a continuing education seminar sponsored by Wisconsin-based Lorman Education Services. Throughout the day, attendees representing the local government and private sector gained valuable insight into Plat and Subdivision Law.

Greg Clary, president and founder of Clary & Associates, and Bob Pittman, vice president of the company’s Private Sector, served as guest faculty members for the seminar. Along with Melissa Gross-Arnold of Lewis, Longman and Walker, PA, and Joe Mecca of Kimley-Horn and Associates, the duo delivered to more than 30 interested attendees a thorough and informative presentation.

Clary & Associates’ seminar topics focused on the historical background, statutes, regulations and requirements of Plat and Subdivision Law, and supporting education included a case study, plat exhibits and resource information. Guests also were invited to participate in a question-and-answer session.

“It was an honor to be invited to serve on the faculty for this event,” said Clary. “The legal aspects of platting and subdividing land often can be a challenge. It’s extremely important for everyone involved in those processes to understand what is required of them, and to be able to smoothly navigate the legal system. Not only was it great to see so many of our industry colleagues in attendance, it was a great benefit to have government representatives weigh in during the question-and-answer portion of the seminar. We enjoyed a well-rounded group of people.”

Clary & Associates’ faculty proceeds were donated to Pine Castle, the non-profit organization currently celebrating over 50 years of service to individuals with disabilities. Located on the Southside, Pine Castle provides residential, employment and a multitude of progressive services to over 400 adults with developmental disabilities each year. It is a nationally accredited organization, and one of the largest employers of people with disabilities in the Jacksonville area.

“We’re a long-time supporter of Pine Castle and its outstanding programs,” said Bob Pittman, vice president of Clary & Associates. “It’s the largest regional supplier of the wooden stakes that we use during our survey fieldwork. Pine Castle also provides exceptional training, education and business services. We look forward to continuing our support, and to seeing Pine Castle’s continued success.”
